Each of the 16 Bundesländer has its own set of 10 official questions about its parliament, constitution, coat of arms and map. Exactly 3 of your 33 exam questions come from the state where you are registered, so drill the right set. Below you also see which office decides naturalisation in each state.

The official catalogue has 300 general questions plus 10 questions for each federal state, 460 in total. Your test paper is built from 30 general questions and 3 questions from the state where you are registered on the day of the exam, not the state where you were born or work.
If you move to another state before the exam, register there first and then practise the new set. State questions are usually the easiest points in the whole test, because there are only ten of them and several use pictures of the coat of arms or the state map.
Your naturalisation application is filed with the office of your city or district, listed above by state. Processing times differ a lot: large cities are slower than small districts, so ask for the current waiting time when you book the appointment.
