How much does a German national visa cost from India?
The embassy fee itself is €75, paid in rupees at the consulate or VFS. With VFS service charges, apostille, translations and insurance most applicants spend far more than the fee alone.
Is the blocked account deposit part of the visa cost?
No. The deposit stays your own money and is released to you monthly in Germany. Only the opening fee and the monthly service charge are a real cost, and those are included here.
Do children pay the full visa fee?
Minors usually pay a reduced national visa fee, around €37.50. Set the number of applicants here for a safe upper estimate and confirm the reduced rate at your appointment.
Is the visa fee refunded if my application is rejected?
No. The fee covers the processing of the application, not the result, and neither VFS charges nor courier costs come back. Budget for one repeat attempt if your file is thin.
